Hans Eichelberger is of medium build, dark hair, and blue eyes. He has a mischevious smile, but is a dedicated detective of the rural police. In Germany, all police belong to the state. Hans is a criminal detective for the Teltow district based in Luckenwalde.
Detective Eichelberger is assigned the murder case the newspapers sensationally dub the “Waldheide Massacre”. Eight people in a small village south of Berlin are brutally murdered – their bodies muitlated and burned in an arson of an old stable.
